These words are from the anthem created by Radio Radio for Montreal Impact fans and players to chant loud and clear during games, starting September 5th. The anthem, an initiative of founding partner Videotron Mobile, is a gift to help fans rally behind their team.
Radio Radio, a Montreal-based electro hip-hop band, was a natural fit for this project. Radio Radio is all about celebrating life. What better way to do so than with a song to salute a team that packs the stadium with thousands of energetic, enthusiastic fans!, explains Gabriel L.B. Malenfant, one of the band’s two members. He is thrilled to be part of this great tradition that unites fans and athletes.
The guys from Radio Radio are themselves huge supporters of the Montreal Impact. We wanted to write a song that the 12th player could sing and ignite his fellow team members and propel them to victory!, explains Jacques Alphonse Doucet, a self-proclaimed diehard fan of the team with season tickets to prove it.
The band will perform the song live at the next game. On Saturday, September 5th, fans will have the unique opportunity to watch Radio Radio sing the anthem at Stade Saputo during the Videotron Mobile match. In the meantime, they can visit unhymne.com to watch the video and download the anthem, free of charge! That way, fans can be ready to join in the chant with Radio Radio when the season starts.
