For immediate releaseMontreal, February 06, 2017

A year ago, Loïc April independently released his debut EP DIV/SION with a launch show at Montreal’s Quai des Brumes, where he also performed a cover of Beach House’s single Walk in the Park. He’s since released DIV/SION on vinyl, which includes his three original songs as well as his Beach House cover.

Stream his cover of Walk in the Park now via VOIR.ca.

DIV/SION is a strikingly well-composed work of shoegaze rock, blending dreamy pop melodies and introspective lyrics with reverb and guitar distortion. The three songs, written by Loïc, were recorded with several of his musician friends and mixed by Jean-Michel Coutu (Duchess Says, Pypy, Jesuslesfilles, I.D.A.L.G.). Discover DIV/SION on Bandcamp, iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music.

Loïc is currently working on his full-length debut LP to be released in 2018.

About Loïc April
Though he’s only recently started writing his solo project, Loïc April has been performing music for a while. He’s performed at POP Montreal, Coup de coeur francophone and Francouvertes, among others, while heading a post-punk band. Influenced as much by Slowdive and the Pixies as by Françoise Hardy, the self-taught multi-instrumentalist has a liking for unorthodox and melodious chord progressions. The result is a timeless and vivid French rock record.
