On February 2nd, Milk & Bone released their sophomore effort, Deception Bay, via Bonsound. Offering a dreamlike, hazy, soft electro-pop soundscape, the album debuted at #2 in Quebec, hit #2 on iTunes Canada and sat at the top spot on Earshot’s National Top 50 for two weeks in a row. The album is available in stores and on all digital platforms.

Today, the Montreal-based band unveils a video for Nevermore, directed by Christine Grosjean and Marie-Soleil Denault. On the single, Camille Poliquin and Laurence Lafond-Beaulne free themselves from toxic relationships, singing: Nevermore / You won’t catch me crying / On the kitchen floor / I won’t play along. The video stars the duo and features quadrascopic images, amplifying this feeling of liberation.

Just like their 2015 record, Little Mourning, all the facets of love and relationships make up the cornerstones of this new album. Emotions ran very high on their Polaris Long-Listed debut album, and on Deception Bay, they present themselves in a new light. From innocent crushes to impossible love, they now exude confidence and inner strength. Produced with Gabriel Gagnon, and mixed by Gagnon and Howie Beck (Feist, Charlotte Day Wilson, River Tiber), this new collection of electro-pop songs features numerous collaborations with musicians and producers, including Grammy award-winning pianist Chilly Gonzales, CRi, Max-Antoine Gendron and Jonathan Dauphinais.

Milk & Bone’s North American tour kicks off in Toronto this Thursday, March 1st, and includes dates in Ottawa (sold-out!), Quebec City (sold-out!) and many US cities (Brooklyn, Chicago, Los Angeles, Seattle, etc.). The duo will present their new concert in Montreal on April 5th to a sold-out Théâtre Corona, before flying off to Europe for 11 shows in 6 different countries.
