Today, the electro-pop duo Milk & Bone presents a remix of their song 20MGs by Uffie and Lokoy, two renowned artists of the electronic music scene. The original version appears on the album Chrysalism, released via Bonsound last October. This new version preserves the sweetness and emotional strength of the original, while increasing its intensity and turning it into a dance floor anthem.

20MGs (Uffie & Lokoy Romantic Remix) is available on all music services.
Chrysalism is available on vinyl, CD and digital format.

Uffie and Lokoy, who worked together extensively over the last year, bring a new dimension to 20MGs, amplifying its rhythmic dynamics without distorting it. I really love how powerful yet gentle the original track is, and it was really fun honouring those elements while creating our own universe, explains Uffie. I think we both wanted to make something that had intensity but still felt loving and sweet. So when Uffie suggested naming it ‘The Romantic Remix,’ I thought it was a great fit, adds Lokoy. With this remix, the two artists masterfully transform an emotional ballad into the perfect nightclub banger.

It’s an honor for Milk & Bone to have their song remixed by Uffie and Lokoy, whom the Montréal duo have long admired. It just makes so much sense that a duo is remixing a duo, assert Camille Poliquin and Laurence Lafond-Beaulne, the two halves of Milk & Bone. 20MGs is a very vulnerable song to start with, but it does have a lot of rage and helplessness to it, and we feel like this remix really embodies that. Party to your own sorrow let's go.

Milk & Bone will be touring across Quebec over the coming months and into the winter of 2023-2024. This summer, the duo will perform at the FEQ, the Montreal International Jazz Festival (opening for Christine and the Queens twice), Le Festif!, OSHEAGA and the Festival international de montgolfières de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. They'll be back in Montreal on February 16th, 2024 at the Beanfield Theatre. See the list below for more details.

In the fall of 2022, Milk & Bone unveiled Chrysalism. The album was described by CBC Music as a collection of raw insecurities, mundane moments, heart-wrenching conflicts and beautiful bonds. Built on vocal harmonies, synth-led hooks and catchy guitar riffs, this third album allowed the duo to explore topics such as love, longing and heartbreak from a more mature perspective. Composed and recorded with the help of Los Angeles-based producer Micah Jasper (ELIO, Rebecca Black, Slayyyter), who shares the duo’s pop sensibilities and references, Chrysalism is a poignant reflection of what it feels like to grow older and come into your own.
