On the brink of releasing her debut EP, Täbï Yösha takes off her rose-colored glasses to present the title track True Colors, a new single about disingenuous relationships. This song is the third single off True Colors, an EP to be released on Bonsound this Friday, August 18th.

The track starts as a seemingly sweet love song and takes a sour turn once Täbï shines a light on her love interest’s true intentions, shifting the song's sentiment to one of deception and heartbreak. Something special between us / But I was wrong it was just lust, sings the rising R&B star. True Colors perfectly captures the rollercoaster of emotions that come with being in a toxic relationship and the deception of realizing that a connection we thought was special turned out to be mere lust. This emotionally charged, bittersweet track will resonate with anyone who’s ever been blinded by love and romanticized an unhealthy relationship.

True Colors is available on all music services.

This summer, Täbï Yösha is all set to charm audiences with her captivating voice and infectious energy. Catch her on August 26th, opening for Milk & Bone at Île St-Quentin and performing on a unique floating stage as part of Contre-Courant. Then, on September 6th, Täbï will be celebrating the release of her debut EP with a launch party at l’idéal. A few days later, she’ll make her way to Quebec City to perform at the St-Roch XP festival on September 9th.

About True Colors
Recorded with close collaborator and beatmaker Suiker, Täbï Yösha’s debut EP comprises five tracks showcasing the singer's soul, R&B and electro-pop influences. True Colors bears witness to a period characterized by setbacks and heartbreak. Nevertheless, it's an empowering effort that embodies the lover in Täbï's heart.

About Täbï Yösha
Trained in singing, theater and dance, Täbï first performed as a member of The Souldiers, a jazz/house band with whom she played numerous shows. Her talent and stage presence also brought her to the forefront as a solo artist, notably at Femmes en blues, an event that showcases women musicians and singers from the Quebec scene, and at the Sugar Bar in New York City, a venue founded by Ashford & Simpson (the legendary songwriting couple behind some of Marvin Gaye's, Chaka Khan's, and Aretha Franklin's greatest hits). She then went on to lend her voice to Ariane Moffatt’s Aquanaute 2022, which was nominated at last year's ADISQ Gala.

In January 2020, Täbï Yösha released a sultry, sensual R&B track called All Day All Night, followed by Move On in September, a francophone neo-soul single. Her impromptu performances posted on Instagram quickly caught the attention of beatmaker Suiker, who sent her some instrumentals that convinced her to put her voice and songwriting skills to work. This collaboration led to the songs that make up her first EP, True Colors, to be released on August 18th, 2023.
