Today, Laurence-Anne unveils a new facet of her dream world with Vitesse, the fourth single from Oniromancie, her third album. This new song follows Polymorphe, Politesse and Flores released earlier this year. Due out this Friday, September 8th on Bonsound, Oniromancie will be celebrated with launch shows at the Sala Rossa in Montreal (as part of POP Montreal) on September 28th and at the Pantoum in Quebec City on September 30th.

Vitesse is available on all music services.
Pre-order/pre-save Oniromancie (CD, vinyl and digital format).

With its fast-paced rhythm and anxiety-inducing atmosphere, Vitesse evokes the panic of an unshakable nightmare. Laurence-Anne drew inspiration from a vivid bad dream for this song, but also from the European coldwave scene of the '80s, particularly the seminal French group Martin Dupont.

In this dream, the singer-songwriter travels at full speed through chaotic landscapes in search of the source of the havoc. This suffocating pursuit is conveyed through distressing synthetic textures, with Laurence-Anne's voice entangled in thick layers of synthesizers and the untamable cadence of the drum machine.

In addition to her two album launch shows, Laurence-Anne will be opening for electro-pop duo Milk & Bone for a few dates this fall and in winter of 2024. Last spring, she performed at several UK festivals, including Wide Days (Scotland), Liverpool Sound City (England) and Focus Wales (Wales), as well as playing a concert in London. Her previous singles have been broadcast on some of the country's most influential radio stations, including BBC Radio 6 and BBC Scotland, and have garnered attention from numerous publications including The Independent, Brooklyn Vegan, The Line of Best Fit, Soho Radio and Under the Radar. Check out the list below for all her upcoming show dates.

About Oniromancie
Laurence-Anne dives deep into the nocturnal world on Oniromancie, moving seamlessly between sweet dreams and paralyzing nightmares. Produced alongside François Zaïdan, this album further pushes the groundwork established on her previous releases, proving to be denser and darker while remaining faithful to her penchant for creating a conceptual and immersive universe. Through a combination of dream/art/synthpop with coldwave and experimental influences sprinkled in here and there, Laurence-Anne creates eleven distinct landscapes that emanate dreamlike, intimate music. Drawing from the depths of its creator's subconscious, Oniromancie manages to spellbind listeners by revealing a universe that exists only to those who lend an ear, one in which Laurence-Anne opens up more than ever while still deepening the mysterious aura that surrounds her.

About Laurence-Anne
Laurence-Anne is an architect of the intangible; she sculpts musical landscapes composed of haunting melodies, lush synthesizers, synthetic rhythms and hazy textures, all coated with her voice capable of instilling both comfort and anxiety. All of these elements come together to create a blend of dream pop, coldwave and synthpop inspired by her imagination, intimately connected to her experiences, and deeply infused with her unique perspective. Shortly after entering the Montreal music scene, Laurence-Anne made a big splash in 2019 with a critically acclaimed debut album that made the Polaris Prize long list, which was followed by an EP showcasing her expanded musical horizons. Thus, the groundwork was laid for Musivision, a second album co-produced by Félix Petit (Les Louanges, Safia Nolin, Hubert Lenoir) which crystallized her creative identity. This Friday, Laurence-Anne will reveal Oniromancie, her most conceptual work to date.
