The charismatic Montreal-based, Congolese-born Pierre Kwenders shares a video today for his song Irène from his debut album out October 14th via Bonsound. The album is titled Le Dernier Empereur Bantou (The Last Bantu Emperor), and the artist has already been chosen as Révélation Radio-Canada 2014-2015 for world music. More details will follow over the next few weeks.

The song Irène is a reference to the 2011 hurricane of the same name. The lyrics draw parallels between the hurricane's devastation and the effect a woman can have in a man's life. Director Matthew Oppenheimer depicts people from all walks of life meeting at twilight in the forest. The video celebrates mysticism and tribalism as hope rises under a fiery sunset.

He sings about love, joy and peace, but writes instinctively. He has his sights set on the world and has the talent to conquer it.

Pierre Kwenders is one of the few Montreal artists who subscribes to this ever-growing movement: the world 2.0.
