After a stellar performance opening for METZ and The Black Lips at the Festival d’été de Québec, Ponctuation unveils their music video for La réalité me suffit. The song is off their latest album La réalité nous suffit, released this past April.

Co-written by Maxime Chiasson (Ponctuation’s drummer) and directed by Thomas B. Martin (who also designed the album cover), the video brings us into a cartoon universe in which a man, devastated by the death of a loved one, decides to undergo a drastic physical change.

You can still catch the band, headlining at Le Cercle tonight at 10pm, at the ongoing Festival d’été de Québec. Ponctuation will also be performing in Gatineau on July 18th, in Val-d’Or on July 23th within the FRIMAT, and in Béthanie on August 8th at the second edition of La Grosse Lanterne, before hoping over the Atlantic for a European tour.

It’s clear they have cultivated a good following in their home province and hopefully make their way out west in the near future.

Beat Route

Sophie Chartier, Le devoir

By the end of Ponctuation's set, even those unfamiliar with the group's addictive garage rock were begging for more and who could fault them?

Thierry Côté, Exclaim.ca

There’s always been a rawness and fearless authenticism to French artists that I have always admired and it was no different with this band. Their sun-kissed tunes were perfect for the place they were playing
