In February 2018, Milk & Bone released their second album Deception Bay. Since then, the duo has won a JUNO for Electronic Album of the Year, performed alongside Lorde and Cyndi Lauper, and released DIVE, a collaborative EP with famed producer Alex Lustig. Needless to point out that the girls haven’t slowed down at all in the past year. To top a list of critically acclaimed singles off Deception Bay, they’re now releasing a video for the song KIDS. The video was created thanks to the generous support of the MVP Project, a joint initiative of RBCxMusic and the Prism Prize (administered by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television).

Once again, Camille and Laurence entrusted the video direction to their long-time collaborator Soleil Denault. The director opposes the carelessness and innocence played out in the lyrics to well-thought-out visuals: the calculated camera shifts, the lines that seamlessly curve and swerve throughout the video, the choreography. The video deftly illustrates the symbiosis conveyed in the text. Through opposite yet complementary aesthetics and the bodies effortlessly melting one in the other, the images draw out a meticulous dance. Your name on my wrist and a thousand stolen kisses / Whose house is this and how’d we even get here / Talking about our scars in the backseat of your car / Smoking in an empty yard and choking, laughing so hard, the girls sing as one.
