Bonsound is proud to announce the signature of Corridor to our record label. Later this year, the band will release new music via Bonsound in Canada and via Sub Pop for the rest of the world. This is the first time since its creation in the 1980s that the legendary Seattle-based label will collaborate with an entirely francophone group.

The band is also making the most of this announcement by unveiling dates for their upcoming tour throughout the fall of 2019. The tour will kick off in Philadelphia on October 23rd with dates in Berlin, Paris, London, Toronto and Montreal before wrapping at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles on December 13th.

About Corridor: Founded in 2012, Corridor is a Montreal-based band composed of Jonathan Robert (vocals, guitar), Julian Perreault (guitar), Dominic Berthiaume (vocals, bass) and Julien Bakvis (drums). In addition to his career as a musician, Jonathan Robert is an accomplished visual artist in animation and illustration. He takes on the role of the band’s creative director and sets the tone for the visual aesthetics of their records and videos.

In 2013, the band delivered the motorik guitar-pop record Un magicien en toi. On the heels of this EP, Corridor re-entered the studio to work on their first full-length album. They collaborated with producer Emmanuel Ethier and spent nearly a year perfecting what would be their structured, assertive LP Le Voyage Éternel (2015) released via L’oeil du Tigre Records. That same year, the group embarked on their first European tour which included a stop in Paris promoted by La Souterraine, a true pillar of the French underground. It was at that show that Corridor first met psych-pop outfit Halo Maud. Both bands would later collaborate on the single Deux Coeurs.

2016 was predominantly spent writing and recording. Once again, Corridor returned to the studio with Emmanuel Ethier to work on their follow-up album Supermercado, released the next year. The album was acclaimed by critics, thanks to minimalist rhythms punctuated by repetitions, progressions and melodic counterpoints that come together in exhilarating mosaics. Brooklyn Vegan wrote the creativity and abundance of killer tunes found on their acid-baked 2017 album Supermercado breaks through the language barrier, and VICE called Supermercado the best French record of 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, and even 2022.

Since the release of Supermercado, Corridor returned to Europe twice in addition to making their first foray to the United States at SXSW 2018. That year in Austin, they played notable showcases for Brooklyn Vegan, Margin Walker, Felte/Part-time Punks, and M for Montreal. Corridor also appeared at Northside Music Festival in Brooklyn, where they performed with the likes of Snail Mail, Deerhoof, and Protomartyr. Soon after, they returned to the U.S. to open for U.K. post-punks Shame. They even found a fan in actor Michael Shannon who attended the show in Chicago and requested a CD from the band. In the spring of 2019, Corridor accompanied the Crumb on a sold-out American tour and performed at the London Calling Festival in Amsterdam and La Villette Sonique Festival in Paris.
