Bonsound announces with great enthusiasm the signature of future soul artist Mark Clennon to their record label. Today the Toronto-based musician unveils Part of Your World, the first single off PASSION, his sophomore EP to be released on September 6, 2019. This new EP follows When The Smoke Clears (2016). To write this very personal song, Clennon drew inspiration from a period in his life when he felt like an outsider. The lyrics address interracial relationships and the challenges of fitting into a culture that is foreign to you, into a space that is a little inhospitable.

Inspired by Pop Up Video, a cult TV show from the late ‘90s, this music video was produced and co-directed by the artist, which he considers to be a huge accomplishment. With much determination and after months of hard work, Clennon travelled to Jamaica to shoot the video on the tiny island of Maiden Cay. I chose to shoot on the Cay as a symbolism of the isolation I felt in that time in my life when I wrote this song, he explains.
Born in Jamaica to a saxophonist father, and brother to a successful dancehall producer, Mark Clennon has an impressive musical track record, thanks to his family’s background. While growing up, he participated in the Jamaican Pantomimes, which has since inspired him to take a theatrical approach to his music.
