A few days before releasing their third album Junior, Corridor unveils the single Pow via the Line of Best Fit. This follows the release of the singles Topographe and Domino, both of which have attracted the attention of Paste, Stereogum, Brooklyn Vegan, Exclaim and Clash. Junior will be available on October 18th via Bonsound in Canada and Sub Pop in the rest of the world.

Pre-order Junior from the Bonstore.
Pow is available on all music services.

Pow is a standout track, thanks to its captivating keyboard riff and playful, upbeat melody. The song hurtles along with a motorik beat, reverberating with atmosphere and hazy memories. The Line of Best Fit adds that it has all the rhythmic impact that you would hope from such a title, from the jittery hi-hats that steadily drive the track to the booming tom-tom off beats that counter them at the turn of every line.

On Junior, the group, formed by Dominic Berthiaume (vocals/bass), Julian Perreault (guitar), Jonathan Robert (vocals/guitar/synths) and Julien Bakvis (drums), offers us 39 minutes of darting and dodging guitars, spiraling vocal harmonies, infectious jangle-pop hooks and exciting riffs that oscillate between psych and post-punk. Just like Le voyage éternel (2015) and Supermercado (2017), Junior was recorded with their friend, producer, and occasionally roommate Emmanuel Ethier. Samuel Gemme (sound recording/mixing) and Josh Bonati (mastering) also collaborated to the project. The group's third effort will be released digitally, as well as on CD and vinyl. A “Sunny Side Up” special edition LP will also be available in limited quantities, only in Canada.

Whereas Corridor's past work could sometimes seem overstuffed, Junior proposes 10 hypnotic, distilled tracks. Part of the beauty of the thing is that we didn't have time to think about it, explains Dominic Berthiaume. Six of Junior's tracks were conceived during a single weekend. Fewer jams, fewer overdubs, and no sequestered fortnight in a countryside chalet. Part of the album’s charm is that it is both spontaneous and polished.

In addition to the launch show taking place on November 22nd at Le National, Corridor will celebrate the release of Junior with an intimate in-store performance at Aux 33 Tours on October 18th. Le National's show is part of a 21-date tour that will take the band to several American and European cities this fall. The group will also be performing in Quebec City, Toronto and Vancouver.
