After releasing the eerie and mysterious single After Dark in April, Paul Jacobs presents The Tree Outside My House, a new psych folk song. Along with this new single, Jacobs announces the release of 185 On the Corner, a new EP set to come out on July 8th via Bonsound.

Written in the spring of 2020, The Tree Outside My House recalls the arrival of the sunny weather after a harsh Montreal winter. On this dreamy, psychedelic track that feels like a warm summer breeze, Paul Jacobs recalls a vivid dream of a comfortable room with a nice view. Built into three different parts, the song is carried by an uplifting beat and lively guitar riffs that lead its progression. Loyal to his DIY nature, the young artist performed, recorded and produced everything by himself.

The Tree Outside My House is available now on all music services.

Paul Jacobs will present the songs from this new EP and more at various festivals this summer. Find him onstage at La Noce in Chicoutimi, at the FEQ in Quebec City, and finally at the Grosse Lanterne in Béthanie. The Montreal-based musician and his band will also make their way to the United States in August for some shows in the Midwest. Consult the list below for all tour dates.

Following the release of the critically acclaimed album Pink Dogs on the Green Grass in the spring of 2021, 185 On the Corner crystallises a period of time during which the prolific artist went through a lot of changes. On this new collection of songs, Jacobs delivers once again the neo-psychedelic sound he is known for, but this time with a slightly mellower approach and velvety mid-tempo rhythms. Its hazy soundscapes make this EP the perfect summer soundtrack. Through his lyrics, the multi-instrumentalist paints vivid, dreamy imagery, capturing his feelings during that period of instability and reflecting on his emotional growth.
