Today, Montreal-based singer-songwriter LUMIÈRE (Étienne Côté) embarks on a tour throughout France opening for rising French pop star Clara Luciani. The first concert will take place tonight in Amiens, and will be followed by stops in Lille, Nantes, Rennes, Le Mans, Toulouse and Pau. This is the second series of shows in France this year for LUMIÈRE, who also opened for Pierre Lapointe on several dates last May.

Étienne and Clara crossed paths thanks to Pierre Lapointe. Étienne went to see Clara's show at the Zénith in Paris at Pierre’s invitation. Knowing that she was also part of the Francos de Montréal lineup, Étienne invited her to Pierre’s Montreal show, for which Étienne was opening. The two artists then met for a drink in Montreal and began a friendship.

Released on May 14th, 2021, LUMIÈRE's first album A.M.I.E.S.A.M.O.U.R. is a free-flowing epic concept album set in 1971. In this sprawling theatrical adventure packed with choirs, strings and organs, three characters - LUMIÈRE (Étienne Côté), BRIQUETTE (Daphné Brissette) and CRISTALE (Naomie de Lorimier) - seek affirmation and support through nourishing friendships and love. Out of this universal, regenerative quest emerged fifteen sumptuous songs that echo folk, rock and the glorious chanson québécoise of the 70s. This past May, LUMIÈRE celebrated the first anniversary of his album with a colourful show directed by Solène Paré at La Tulipe in Montreal.

LUMIÈRE is currently working on his second album, to be released in 2023. Upon his return from Europe, he will perform in several cities, including Montreal (as part of Coup de cœur francophone), Sherbrooke, Matane, Lévis and Rimouski. See the list below for all the dates.
