Electro-pop duo Milk & Bone is back with the delicate Sour (Softest Version), a poignant rendition of their song Sour. Following 20MGs (Uffie & Lokoy Romantic Remix) released earlier this summer, this is the second time Milk & Bone transforms a track from their album Chrysalism, released last fall on Bonsound.
Sour (Softest Version) is available on all music services.
Chrysalism is available on vinyl, CD and digital format.
Sour (Softest Version) encapsulates the overwhelming sense of helplessness, delving further into the sorrow and anger that pervaded during its creation. There is this vivid sadness in Sour that we wanted to explore in its purest form, explain Camille Poliquin and Laurence Lafond-Beaulne, it's the way we sometimes forget our worth and strength in a relationship. Idealizing the past and hypothetical future. Produced in a bedroom during an intimate session, the song returns to the source of the feeling to craft an otherworldly atmosphere that captures the agonizing experience of navigating through the aftermath of love.
This Saturday, September 2nd, Milk & Bone will perform an outdoor show at FME in Rouyn-Noranda. Afterwards, the duo will be touring across Québec during the fall of 2023 and winter of 2024. This tour will end with a show in their hometown at the Beanfield Theater on February 16th, 2024. Consult the list below for more information.
In the fall of 2022, Milk & Bone unveiled Chrysalism. The album was described by CBC Music as a collection of raw insecurities, mundane moments, heart-wrenching conflicts and beautiful bonds. Built on vocal harmonies, synth-led hooks, and catchy guitar riffs, this third album allowed the duo to explore topics such as love, longing, and heartbreak from a more mature perspective. Composed and recorded with the help of Los Angeles-based producer Micah Jasper (ELIO, Rebecca Black, Slayyyter), who shares the duo’s pop sensibilities and references, Chrysalism is a poignant reflection of what it feels like to grow older and come into your own.
